Jim Ross is back with another blog, and reminisces some of his all time favorite SummerSlam memories. Two of these memories include matches involving “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, and really how couldn’t they ;-)
Below are the two Michaels’ matches that some of Ross’s favourites:

@ShawnMichaels at Summer Slam in 2005 was one of the great performances at any Summer Slam and FAR exceeded my expectations.
The 2002 @TripleH vs. @ShawnMichaels Summer Slam match was one of my all time favourites at Summer Slam, too. A true classic that young talents can learn from as it relates to compelling story telling.
While I agree with the match Shawn had with Hunter at SS ’02, I can’t say I agree too much with Ross’s thoughts on Shawn’s match with Hogan. I know people are entitled to their opinion, and while I respect JR’s opinion I also have to disagree.
Yes it was a good match why… because of Shawn’s in ring talent, and I’m not just saying that. If Shawn was awful then I’d say so (which he wasn’t), I think the match was just another example of wrestling politics. We all know that Shawn could beat Hogan, but because of Hogan’s status in the business Shawn had to lose even though Shawn does whatever is good for business which one factor on why I respect him.
I just feel it’s because of this, it’s hard to accept that it’s a classic. I mean Hogan was well past his prime, Shawn was limited to what he could because of his opponent and the outcome was so predictable why.. . because of the politics involved.
In my opinion there are far better matches Shawn’s had at SummerSlam.
