Jim Ross is back with another blog, and address one of the main subjects of the week regarding Shawn’s absence on Raw 20th Anniversary. Just like Shawn himself and Steve Austin, JR too has been hounded by many angry fans (give the guys a break!). He mentions that neither were advertised, and talked about their other commitments.
I even mentioned myself, when I first posted news on this that it was purely speculation that Shawn would appear and that nothing had been confirmed. As JR mentions, these guys whether they be performers or commentators have lives outside the WWE. And from my personal view, fans should respect that! Obviously this doesn’t however apply to all the fans, just the majority that doesn’t listen. The sad thing is, that these people do ruin it for the loyal fans and gives us a bad reputation.

Someone incorrectly wrote that I said that @steveaustinBSR was going to be in Houston which isn’t true. Steve and @ShawnMichaels were both booked months ago for a convention in Las Vegas called the Shot Show and couldn’t break these long standing business obligations to attend Monday’s Raw. Nor were they or any other of the typical suspects ever advertised. Of course it gave some folks a new opportunity to complain. I got hammered with complaints from the bravest people on Earth…the keyboard warriors of Twitter @JRsBBQ.
JR also mentioned the impressive in-ring talent of Dolph Ziggler, and mentioning that it reminds him of Shawn and other talented stars.
I become more and more impressed with @HeelZiggler each time that I see him and he continues to provide me glimpses of @ShawnMichaels, Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude and even Billy Gunn at times. I don’t live and die with win-loss records at this time but the former Kent State Wrestling star is damn sure maximizing his minutes and turning heads which should be his objective. Ziggler is a big star rising.
As always I couldn’t agree more with this, Dolph has and continues to impress me. Same as JR perspective of him, I too probably like many see Shawn and other wrestlers in Ziggler. And it’s great to see, he’s taken these various attributes and made them his own. It’s like anything, sometimes it’s better to take something that’s already been done or seen and mould it to your own.
